We Offer Live In Carers in
Hertfordshire and in Luton
At Compassion Care Agency, we provide live-in carers in Hertfordshire and in Luton to support elderly people, who can no longer live-independently. Our elderly clients receive high quality one-to-one care, tailored just for them, in the comfort and familiar surroundings of their own home. Our clients can continue to eat their favourite meals, prepared individually for them, at times that suit them, without them having to choose from a limited menu or fit in with a mealtime regime, such as occurs in many care homes.
In a care home, twenty residents may be cared for by four carers, or even fewer during part of the evening and at night, but we provide one-to-one care, round-the-clock, seven days a week, for less than many Hertfordshire care homes charge. Our team of experienced professional live-in carers are trained to give specialist care for a range of complex illnesses and disabilities. Our live-in carers provide the following:
- Care for elderly people who are frail or have mobility issues.
- Care for elderly people with long-term illness or physical disabilities -in their own home.
- Care for people with Parkinson`s in their own home.
- Care for people with Dementia / Alzheimer’s in their own home.
- Care for people with Multiple sclerosis in their own home.
- Companionship for elderly people with minimum needs, in their own home and accompanying them on visits outside the home.
What Does the Live In Care
A professional live-in carer stays with the elderly person or elderly couple round-the clock in their own home. The carer sleeps in a spare bedroom and helps the elderly person with personal care (helping them with showering/washing and getting dressed), doing housework, including light cleaning and laundry and ironing, going shopping, preparing meals, assisting clients to take their medicine, helping them to get ready for bed and attending to them in the night, if necessary.
The carer normally works 22 hours a day for two weeks and then rotates with another live-in carer who covers the next two-week shift. In this way an elderly person normally has a team of two regular carers who between them provide care every day of the year. For some clients, additional care will need to be arranged so that a carer is present, while the live-in carer is on their two-hour break.
How Much Does Live In Care Cost?
Most elderly people prefer to stay in their own home for as long as they can. Our charges for one-to-one live-in care often work out cheaper than the fees charged by care homes in Hertfordshire. Our live-in care starts from £695 per week for a single person who requires companionship care (for seven days a week). Care will cost more for a person who needs more complex care and care will cost more for a couple than for an individual.
We cannot tell you precisely how much live-in care will cost for your loved one, until we have found out what level of care they need. That’s why we visit you and your loved one in their own home and have a chat with them to work out how much care they need. Each live-in carer works 22 hours a day, so sometimes additional cover will need to be arranged and paid for to cover the period when the live-in carer is on their break.
We are happy to provide carers for short care visits, lasting as short as 30 minutes, during the period when the live-in carer is on a break. If you arrange live-in care with us, you don’t need to arrange short care visits through us, but we can usually arrange it, if that’s what you want. We are not aware of any Hertfordshire care agency charging less than us and we encourage you to compare our fees with at least two other care agencies.
